New Projects for 2023 from twiddletails

I signed up for a couple of BOMs this year, actually in 2022. I also may have started a couple of other new projects...

This is how I circumvented my self-imposed rule of not starting any new projects in 2023. Clever right?

The first one is "The Secret Garden" by Sarah Fielke.

The colors and fabrics I chose are completely out of my comfort zone, but I love it!

I also actually purchased some fabric for this project, which I haven't done in YEARS!

Next up is The Quilt Show's 2023 BOM, called Homeward Bound. This was also ...

Don't Leaf Me from Wendy's Quilts and More

This week I've been working on "Don't Leaf Me" by Wendy Williams.

I've had this kit for over a year, but due to many other distractions, I haven't got very far with this one.  I decided that I needed to show it some love this week.

I've done a lot of wool felt applique in the past, but I haven't done much needle turn applique. There's so many different ways to do needle turn applique! Everyone has a different method.  In the end, I asked one friend to show me her method, and ...

Mid Century Breeze Quilt from Samelia's Mum

As a child, I remember spending lots of summertime mornings, helping my grandmother paint the front fence white. It was built mid century (as was the house) and made up of breeze blocks.

YouTube, Blogging, Stitching & Life from Where Art & Life Meet

Things have been busy around here. I had the idea to start a YouTube channel over a year ago. My thought was to go through Sue Spargo’s Creative Stitching book and demonstrate every stitch (but for left-handed stitchers) featured in her book, one stitch a week. I discussed my idea with Anna Bates, my friend… Continue reading YouTube, Blogging, Stitching & Life

Scrappy Hats QAL Day 15 from Quilt Doodle Doodles

Welcome to Day 15

Whew, it's already day 15! Today we will work on noses... snowman noses. I pulled a fat quarter out of my fabric stash.... I had already cut into it from a previous project so it was more like a fat eighth. We will make 13 noses for our snowman blocks. In the pattern I have you do your noses using a fusible method using Heat N Bond fusible web. In this method you will trace all of your noses onto the paper side of the fusible web. Iron this onto the wrong side of your ...

1857 Album Quilt Update from Quilting Artist

I've been having a lot of fun working on these blocks from the 1857 Album Quilt by Sentimental Stitches.
Perfect for some stitching and a cup of tea.
Here are the first six I have appliqued.  They are 10" blocks and I am doing needleturn applique - my favorite method!
from the Sentimental Stitches web site.
I really like working in one color and I think these blocks look great in blue and white. The original quilt, which you can see here, is red, green and cheddar.
Here is my fabric pull from my stash for these blocks.  As I ...

Winter Blues - January Update from Quilting Artist

I know a lot of you have had the winter blues this year with lots of snow.  My heart goes out to you living in the northwest who seem to not be getting a break from the snow.  Fortunately (don't say it!) we have been very lucky here in the northeast with very little snow thus far.
But what I mean by Winter Blues here are some of the projects I have been working on the past month.  I seem to be working with a lot of blue.. must be the season.  I hope to get the binding on ...
